Muir Copper Canyon Farms places the highest priority on food safety and believes that food safety is one of the most important issues facing the food industry today.
We have always received superior ratings from food safety audits. On January 22, 2008, Muir Copper Canyon Farms continued its tradition of superior ratings from Cook and Thurber (an international 3rd party food safety auditor) with a score of 95%. We are continually looking for ways to improve our food safety practices. We were the first local Salt Lake supplier to implement an antiterrorism program.
In 2006 we implemented a new policy requiring all its employees to maintain a current food handler’s permit. We require traceability capabilities from all our suppliers; we also conduct semi annual Mock Recalls or traceability tests to ensure that we can react quickly in case of a food safety emergency.
